Powerhouse
Sigma Psi Sigma member Stella Rockwell (MC21) is a powerhouse.
AI Overview: Pow·er·house /ˈpou(ə)rˌ(h)ous/ an exceptionally energetic, influential, and capable person, team, or entity, possessing great strength, skill, drive, and potential for success, often used for someone who achieves extraordinary results or serves as a source of inspiration and power in their field.
As we all know, since the pandemic and the onset of AI, searching for a job after graduating college is challenging at best. Add to that a competitive industry such as sports marketing and the challenge is amplified. To succeed, you must be creative and resilient. Stella is all that and inspirational.
Milestones are not linear
After a disappointing job search in early-mid 2025, Stella changed everything up and is now managing three internships. Her goal is to get as much experience in sports marketing as possible and build her resume as she continues to network and hunt for her full-time job.
Her first internship is with the Everett Silvertips; a Canadian Hockey League team currently in first place in the Western Conference. As a social media intern you can find Stella at games gathering footage for great storytelling.
Her next internship is the Director of Media with the fast-growing Sammamish FC. A few weeks ago, the owner posted Stella’s 2025 Recap video on LinkedIn with a shout-out to Stella for her amazing work.
And her third internship is working as Social Media Content Creation Intern for the start-up athletic wear company Official League.
As Sheryl Sanberg famously said, Careers Aren’t Ladders, They’re Jungle Gyms
Skill Building at WSU
Taking advantage of the opportunities given to her at Alpha Chi Omega and WSU, Stella excelled in building friendships while seeking the heights.
Doing the right things

Stella is smart enough to know that seeking mentors and embracing the learning curve is a normal part of any career. Figuring out next steps, job searching, and the natural scattering of college friends can feel overwhelming and confusing. Finding a supportive mentor and taking care of your social needs can help.
Because Stella is smart, she’s doing all the right things.
Networking with her WSU AXO Alumnae
Building her skill set through part-time work
Exploring additional education opportunities
Being proactive in socializing and meeting new people
Understanding that building a career is a process
Remember to socialize
Recently Stella celebrated her birthday in style with her Omega sisters. Do you see anyone you know?
Stella - Keep up the great work and we can’t wait to see where your future takes you.
We are proud to call you Sister!

Omega Chapters is a Blog series from your Alum sisters at Sigma Psi Sigma. There are countless chapters we experience throughout our lives and sharing our experiences is a great way to relate to each other. To be clear: No toxic positivity allowed and no humble brags. Shameless brags are perfectly fine! The goal is to connect and inspire.
