Omega Chapters: Chloe

Updated: Apr 21

Omega Chapters is a new Blog series from your Alum sisters at Sigma Psi Sigma. This month we're focusing on the transition of graduating college and transitioning to life with no classes, no finals, no chapter meetings! No toxic positivity allowed and no humble brags. Shameless brags are perfectly fine! The goal is to connect and inspire.

Young Alumna: Chloe Mullins

Hi everyone,

My name is Chloe Mullins, and I am an alumna of WSU Alpha Chi. I graduated from Washington State University in May 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology.

My time at WSU was some of the best years of my life though it  came with difficulties. I am so thankful for everyone I met through Alpha Chi and am so lucky to be an alumni for such an amazing chapter.

I joined Alpha Chi Omega during my sophomore year, after spending my first year of college at home during  COVID.

Not Just Four Years - Sisterhood is a Lifetime

During my first week in Alpha Chi, I met the friends who would become my lifelong support system. The relationships I built in Alpha Chi Omega have been some of the most meaningful of my life.

Those relationships became very important when during my junior year, both my parents passed away. This drastically changed my plans for life after college. My focus shifted from planning for the future to scraping by and getting my degree.

After graduation, I moved back home to live with my grandmother. Adjusting from college life to living with family again was difficult, especially as I was far from the friends who had been my support system. My sisters in Alpha Chi Omega were the ones who helped me with my grief, and being apart from them was a hard transition.

Life After Graduation

After graduating I now work as a patient services representative specializing in Phlebotomy and am a certified MA-P for Multicare Health Systems. I am so grateful for my new position and am looking forward to growing in this position. For my future I hope to go back to school and explore other healthcare opportunities.

One piece of advice my grandmother gives is that it is okay not to have everything figured out and that trying new things is part of life . That is the advice I want to share with all of you graduating in 2025: explore every opportunity, and do not stress if you don’t have everything figured out right now. Find a career that makes you happy and if you realize it is not the right fit, dont be afraid to start over and pursue a different path.

LITB

Cherish your final moments in Pullman. You will look back and think about the memories you created at WSU and in Alpha Chi. And if you are struggling to find a job post-grad , know that you are not alone. The job market is challenging for everyone right now. and don’t be afraid to ask alumnae for advice or help! Stay persistent, trust your own timeline, and believe that the right opportunity will come your way.

Wishing you all the best in this next chapter!

LITB! Chloe ❤️💚
