8 Takeaways from the SPS Annual Meeting

One: We're 60 members strong

It's official. We set a membership record for Sigma Psi Sigma. Each year we've grown and we couldn't be happier. We're a community that values maintaining connections but also meeting new people, lifelong learning, and our lasting sisterhood.

Now more than ever; women need women to uplift and inspire each other.

Two: Christmas Tea December 14

The 2024 Christmas Tea is free this year and being held at Beth Collins house in Issaquah, WA. Don't miss this opportunity to dress up, wear your pin, and mix with your sisters while you enjoy tasty treats, bubbles, and tea.

If you've reached a membership milestone and RSVP, we'll celebrate you at the Tea.

Check your Inbox for an Evite invitation.

Three: More events; more places

Our events are bigger and better this year! We have events in the greater Seattle area, Tacoma, Portland, Spokane, Walla Walla, Dallas, and Maui. There's bound to be something for you!

We kicked off our monthly dinner series and posted locations and dates for the first six months.

Go to Events to see what we have planned!

If you see we picked a restaurant in your area that may not be the best choice, let us know. It's super easy to change everything.

Four: Auction Chair needed

We're looking for someone who would be interested in chairing a 2025 auction. Is it you? Get a team together and cover all things auction including procurement, online sales, marketing, and more! We have pro-tips from 2022 to share but you will have as much automony as you like.

Five: Omega Strong

Omega had one of their best recruitments this year and the house is full at 117. MC2024 make up 28 of those women. We survived the low retention rate from pandemic pledges (PC20, PC21) and don't seem to be affected by the reduced number of incoming students in the current and upcoming classes.

The Kathi Goertzen Tribute and award drew ten applications from Junior and Senior sisters. The $3,500 was award to senior Emma Underwood who is graduating this year with a degree in broadcast journalism.

Six: Finances are good

Beth put together a detailed report showing the flow of donations and fees as well as the outgoing expenses. The cruise was the only event that didn't pay for itself but we're trying something new this year and we hope it breaks even. Pirate ship anyone? You can find the detailed report on our Facebook page.

Seven: Alumnae Exec are re-elected for 2 more years

You'll see the same faces and names attached to Sigma Psi Sigma Pres, Treasurer, VP Communications, Collegiate Liasion, and Marketing. Thank you for trusting us to nuture this alumnae sisterhood!

Eight: Got ideas?

We're always looking for ways to make our alumnae chapter better and stronger. You have great ideas (yes you do!) we would love to hear your thoughts on what you would like to see in 2025.

In some cases, we'll have resources to dedicate to your ideas and in other cases we may ask for your help. You'll never know unless you ask! Drop us a line at wsu.axo.alumnae@gmail.com
